The newly remodelled room and fairly clean bathroom. Comfy bed. - Cooperative staff who insisted on making me make a good review after check-out. - Location just next door to the bus station going to CDG airport. - Lots of restaurants nearby. - Les Deux Coupoles within a 10-minute walk of the hotel for shots.

For the budget it was appropriate. No frills, but clean.

It was cheap.
Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Demanded payment for my room on arrival, before I'd even seen it. Had I not have been made to pay, I'd not have stayed there. It was awful, bordering on dangerous. Some electrical wires were hanging around by the door, and the ends of some water pipes were exposed and came quite sharp when I discovered them, scraping my shin as I was getting out of the 'shower' - which was actually just a mixer tap in a kind-of cubicle. Even for the price, total waste of money. Rubbish. Avoid. Steer clear.

The room was okay - it was bright and the bed was pretty big and comfortable. All of the staff members who I spoke to were extremely friendly and helpful. I appreciated being able to leave my bag at the reception from about 8am until about 5pm on the last day of my stay.
Okay. I'll start off with something minor. My room was on the fifth storey and it was pretty hot in my room, but this is probably normal for rooms that are on the fifth storey of a building. When I opened the window bugs always came in, but it was definitely necessary to have the window open because of how hot the room was - I don't mind bugs anyway. But, my main issue with the hotel is this: you need to pay three euros to use the shower. This is the second hotel that I've stayed at recently where I've needed to pay to have a shower - I don't know if this is a recent trend among 'budget' hotels - I think that it is almost certainly illegal to charge for the use of showers - if a hotel is going to charge for the use of showers then they might as well charge for the use of toilets as well. I stayed at the hotel for three nights, so I just didn't shower - I would never pay to use a shower out of principle, so I would be in some trouble if I was staying somewhere for more than three nights. My room was 35 euros a night, which already isn't that cheap - you shouldn't need to pay to shower if you're paying 35 euros a night. I would have preferred to stay in another hotel that I know which is in a much better location than the Hotel de Nantes for 39 euros a night where you don't have to pay to use the shower. If a hotel charges for the use of the shower then they should make it clear before people make their bookings. Also, something else minor: the hotel is in a pretty boring part of Paris, but it's easy to get anywhere in Paris with the Metro, so this wasn't a major concern, if a concern at all. I am living in Nantes at present, and it is not a good city (it is boring) - I should have known that the Hotel de Nantes would not be good based on the city that it takes its name from.

Helpful staff Simple, but clean rooms and sheets Rather quite area Supermarket is close 10 mins walk to the nearest metro station, Brochant and lots of restaurants around
I was a little worried when i saw that there are not so many reviews for this hotel, but its quite good and i can recommend it for other travellers who need only a bed and a shower. No kitchen, no micro, no kettle (but you can get coffee and cold drinks from the machine) No toilet in the bathroom, only shower cabin, bide and sink Very very old furniture, but new cool tv Very noisy when neighbours wake up and take shower and lock their doors - dont forget your earplugs

the front dest person in this small hotel was nice but when I had to climb 12 flights of stairs to get to my sixth floor room I was shocked that there was no elevator.

The hotel, make no mistake, is very basic and cheaply furnished. Nonetheless, my room was clean and had a double bed, basic ensuite toilet and shower. 'Adequate' for a couple of nights stay. Although I travel the world extensively, I am based in 75009 Paris and return frequently at short notice. Paris is a 'hit or miss' venue for getting reasonable rates hotel stays due to its popularity - so much so, that my preferred hotels often double or treble their rates making my stays unreasonably expensive. Hence, I have to stay at 'budget' hotels occasionally. Hotel Nantes is such a budget hotel - no frills, basic but 'adequate' old hotel...
4Th floor room - no elevator.
